11.37.6. Assembly
WARNING
When installing retaining ring, be
careful as spring will be under 54
pounds of compression. If injury oc-
curs, seek medical aid.
a. Install piston (3) in cylinder (5).
(1) Install spring (7) and piston (3) in cylinder (5).
(2) Compress piston (3) in cylinder (5).
(3) Install retaining ring (6) on cylinder (5).
b. Install clevis (1) on piston (3).
(1) Install clevis (1), nut (4), and washer (2).
(2) Screw clevis (1) until recorded dimension A is
attained.
(3) Aline hole in clevis (1) and hole in cylinder (5)
in direct line with each other.
(4) Tighten nut (4).
(5) Lockwire nut (4) to washer (2). Use wire
(item 226, App F).
c. Inspect (QA).
