(2) Remove and discard lockwire from rod end
(8).
(3) Loosen nut (14) until lock (15) is free of shaft
(16).
(4) Adjust rod end (8) to aline with bellcrank (9).
Turn rod end (8) clockwise to decrease length
or counterclockwise to increase length.
(5) Hold rod end (8). Tighten nut (14) until lock
(15) engages shaft (16).
(6) Remove cartridge (para 11.59).
(7) Hold rod end (8). Torque nut (14) to 105
INCH-POUNDS. Use torque wrench and
crowfoot.
(8) Install lockwire through nut (14) and lock (15).
Use wire (item 224, App F).
(9) Go to step b.(1).
(10) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (11) (para 11.1).
(11) Install nut (10). Torque nut (10) to 30 INCH-
POUNDS. Use torque wrench.
(12) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(13) Install new cotter pin (17).
c. Inspect (QA).
d. Remove -7 rig pin (18) from rig pin hole (19).
