SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) SWITCH REPLACEMENT (AVIM) continued
11.64.6. Installation
a. Install new switch (1) on SPAD (2).
(1) Apply a thin layer of adhesive on mating sur-
faces of switch (1) and SPAD (2). Use
adhesive (item 19, App F).
(2) Position switch (1) on SPAD (2).
(3) Install two screws (5) through washers (4),
SPAD (2), and switch (1).
(4) Install two washers (4) and nuts (3).
(a) Hand tighten nuts (3).
NOTE
Ensure that step b. is completed be-
fore adhesive has cured.
Both mounting screws must be loose
to facilitate proper adjustment.
Ensure SPAD shear pin is installed
prior to start of adjustment.
b. Adjust switch (1) to cam actuator valley (10).
Torque nut (3) to 8 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Adjust switch (1) vertically to aline switch cam
rollers (11) with center of the cam actuator
valley (10).
(2) Adjust switch (1) horizontally to provide a
0.000 to 0.005 INCH gap between cam ac-
tuator valley (10) and switch cam rollers (11).
Use thickness gage.
(3) Tighten screw (5) in round hole X in the SPAD
(2) only enough to prevent switch (1) from
slipping but free to rotate.
