SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) SWITCH REPLACEMENT (AVIM) continued
(4) Rotate switch (1) toward cam (12), keeping
rollers (11) in center of cam actuator valley
(10), until screw (5) bottoms out in hole Y. If
audible clicks are heard while rotating switch
(1), back switch (1) off enough to allow switch
(1) to open.
(5) Torque nut (3) in round hole X in SPAD (2) to
8 INCH-POUNDS plus run-on torque. Use
torque wrench.
NOTE
If a shear pin cannot be removed by con-
ventional means, after repeated attempts
from any SPAD assemblies, deliberately
shearing the shear pin is permitted. En-
sure both ends of pin are removed.
(6) Remove SPAD shear pin (13) from SPAD (2).
(a) Remove lockwire from shear pin retainer
(14).
(b) Remove retainer (14) from SPAD (2).
(c) Remove shear pin (13) from SPAD (2).
NOTE
Roller overtravel on cylindrical surface to
be approximately 0.030 INCH measured
at slotted hole Y in casting.
(7) Ensure lever (6) is against stop (15) or stop
(16) and rollers (11) are on cylindrical surface
(17) of cam (12).
