SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) SWITCH REPLACEMENT (AVIM) continued
(7) Ensure open condition exists between: P1-1
and P1-2; P1-1 and P1-4. Use multimeter.
(8) If open condition does not exist, repeat steps
b.(1) thru b.(5).
(9) Remove nut (3), two washers (4), and screw
(5) from slotted hole Y in SPAD (2).
(10) Fill slotted hole Y in SPAD (2) and slotted hole
in switch (1) with adhesive. Use adhesive
(item 1, App F) and depressor (item 70,
App F).
(11) Install screw (5), two washers (4), and nut (3)
in slotted hole Y in SPAD (2). Rotate screw
(5) while inserting in hole Y to ensure screw
threads are coated with adhesive.
(12) Torque nut (3) in slotted hole Y in SPAD (2) to
8 INCH-POUNDS plus run-on torque. Use
torque wrench.
(13) Allow adhesive to cure 24 HOURS at ambient
temperature.
NOTE
Shear pin must be installed and switch
deactivated to perform step (14).
(14) Ensure open condition exists between: P1-1
and P1-2; P1-1 and P1-4. Use multimeter.
NOTE
Shear pin must be removed and switch
activated to perform step (15).
(15) Repeat steps b.(6) through c.(3) to ensure
continuity exists between: P1-1 and P1-2;
P1-1 and P1-4. Use multimeter.
(16) If either open condition in step (14) or conti-
nuity condition in step (15) does not exist,
remove adhesive and repeat steps b.(1)
through c.(15).
d. Inspect (QA).
