11.79.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age (para 11.5).
b. Check removed and attaching parts for corro-
sion (para 1.49).
11.79.6. Assembly
a. Install stops (7) in lock (2).
(1) Install two washers (8) and stops (7) in lock
(2).
b. Install shaft (4) on lock (2).
(1) Lubricate pins (5). Use lubricant (item 113,
App F).
(2) Allow pins (5) to air dry for 30 MINUTES.
(3) Install springs (6) on stops (7).
(4) Position pins (5) in lock (2) with flat faces of
pins (5) forward and AFT.
(5) Compress two pins (5) towards helical
springs (6).
(6) Install shaft (4) on lock (2).
(7) Slowly release compression on pins (5) and
springs (6).
c. Check clearance of pins (5).
(1) With pins (5) against stop, clearance from
cam radius of 0.990 to 1.00 INCH shall be
0.010 to 0.015 INCH. Add washers (8) as
required.
