CPG DIRECTIONAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) SHEAR PIN
REPLACEMENT continued
11.146.3. Removal
a. Remove directional push-pull rod (1) from arm
(2).
(1) Remove and discard cotter pin (3).
(2) Remove nut (4).
(3) Remove bolt (5), washer (6), and bushing (7).
NOTE
If a shear pin(s) cannot be removed by
conventional means, after repeated at-
tempts from any of the SPAD assemblies
(CPG or pilot), deliberately shearing the
pin is permitted. Ensure the ends of the
pins are removed.
b. Remove shear pin retainer (8) from arm (2).
(1) Remove lockwire.
(2) Remove retainer (8).
NOTE
Shear pin must be removed in pieces if
sheared.
c. Remove shear pin half (9) from arm (2).
d. Remove shear pin half (10) from SPAD (11).
(1) Move arm (2) for access to shear pin half
(10).
(2) Remove shear pin half (10).
11.146.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
11.146.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age (para 11.5).
