11.145. CPG DIRECTIONAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) INSTALLATION continued
CAUTION
To prevent damage to flight control sys-
tem components, do not use force to
aline push-pull rod with SPAD.
b. Install directional push-pull rod (10) on SPAD
(1). Torque nut (11) 30 to 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Install bushings (12) and (13) in SPAD (1).
(2) Install bolt (14) through washer (15), bushing
(13), SPAD (1), bushing (12), and rod (10).
(3) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (14) (para
11.1).
(4) Install nut (11). Torque nut (11) to 30 INCH-
POUNDS. Use torque wrench.
(5) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(6) Install new cotter pin (16).
c. Install directional push-pull rod (17) on SPAD
(1). Torque nut (18) 30 to 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Install bushing (19) in SPAD (1).
(2) Install bolt (20) through washer (21), bushing
(19), SPAD (1), and rod (17).
(3) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (20) (para
11.1).
(4) Install nut (18). Torque nut (18) to 30 INCH-
POUNDS. Use torque wrench.
(5) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(6) Install new cotter pin (22).
