11.172. PILOT LONGITUDINAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD)
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
11.172.6. Installation
a. Install SPAD (19) and bracket (31) on structure
(32).
(1) Aline bracket (31) on structure (32).
(2) Install four bolts (35) through bracket (31) and
structure (32).
(3) Install four washers (34) and nuts (33).
b. Install rod (25) on SPAD (19). Torque nut (27) 30
to 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(1) Aline rod (25) with SPAD (19).
(2) Install bushing (30).
(3) Install bolt (28) through washer (29), bushing
(30), SPAD (19), and rod (25).
(4) Check fit of self-retaining bolt (28) (para
11.5).
(5) Install nut (27). Torque nut (27) to 30 INCH-
POUNDS. Use torque wrench.
(6) Increase torque to aline cotter pin hole, but do
not exceed 40 INCH-POUNDS.
(7) Install new cotter pin (26).
