11.174. PILOT LONGITUDINAL SHEAR PIN ACTIVATED DECOUPLER (SPAD) ASSEMBLY

11.174.6. Assembly
NOTE
Detent will be secured and adjusted
when SPAD switch is installed.
a. Install detent (23) on lever (7).
(1) Clean faying surfaces of detent (23) and lever
(7) until free of contamination. Use naphtha
(item 127, App F) and cloth (item 52, App F).
(2) Apply a thin uniform coat of adhesive to fay-
ing surfaces of detent (23) and lever (7). Use
adhesive (item 19, App F) and brush
(item 34, App F).
(3) Position detent (23) on lever (7) mating sur-
face and press firmly together.
(4) Allow adhesive to air dry 36 HOURS mini-
mum before handling and 72 HOURS mini-
mum before applying load.
(5) Install two screws (24) through washers (25),
and lever (7) into detent (23).
(6) Lockwire two screws (24) together. Use wire
(item 224, App F).
CAUTION
Ensure that pin is no longer than 0.453
INCH. A longer pin may interfere with
SPAD assembly function.
b. Install guide (19) on shaft (15).
(1) Position guide (19) on shaft (15).
(2) Install pin (21) through shaft (15), guide (19),
and washer (22).
(3) Install new cotter pin (20).
