11.180. LATERAL MAGNETIC BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
b. Establish midpoint (24) of magnetic brake
shaft (13) travel.
(1) Rotate shaft (13) to full left stop (25) and mark
A.
(2) Rotate shaft (13) to full right stop (26) and
mark B.
(3) Measure and bisect dimension C.
(4) Mark midpoint (24) of shaft (13) travel.
c. Install brake (17).
(1) Install spacers (13.3), (13.2), and shim (13.1)
on shaft (13).
(2) Hold shaft (13) at midpoint (24) and position
brake (17).
(3) Carefully insert shaft (13) into serrated bore
(27) of arm (12).
(4) Install four washers (19) and bolts (18).
(5) Install bolt (16) through washer (15) and arm
(12).
(6) Install washer (15) and nut (14) on bolt (16).
d. Attach connector L22 (10) to receptacle J1047
(11).
e. Inspect (QA).
