LONGITUDINAL MAGNETIC BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
e. Remove access door (6) from pilot floor (7).
(1) Remove 16 screws (8) and washers (9) from
floor (7).
(2) Remove door (6).
f. Remove access door (10) from pilot floor (7).
(1) Remove 28 screws (11) and washers (12)
from floor (7).
(2) Remove door (10).
g. Detach connector P23 (13) from receptacle
J1049 (14).
h. Remove shouldered shaft (15) from magnetic
brake shaft (16).
(1) Remove nut (17) and washer (18).
(2) Remove bolt (19) and washer (18).
i. Remove magnetic brake (20).
(1) Remove four bolts (21), outside washers
(22), inside washers (22), and washers (23).
(2) Slide brake shaft (16) out of shaft (15).
(3) Remove magnetic brake (20).
NOTE
Identify position of shim and spacer rings
for proper placement during installation.
(4) Remove shim (16.1) spacer rings (16.2) and
(16.3) from shaft (16).
11.181.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
11.181.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age or wear (para 11.5).
b. Check removed and attaching parts for corro-
sion (para 1.49).
