11.180. LATERAL MAGNETIC BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
e. Remove access door (6) from pilot floor (7).
(1) Remove 16 screws (8) and washers (9) from
floor (7).
(2) Remove door (6).
f. Detach connector L22 (10) from receptacle
J1047 (11).
g. Remove arm (12) from brake shaft (13).
(1) Remove nut (14) and washer (15).
(2) Remove bolt (16) and washer (15).
h. Remove magnetic brake (17).
(1) Remove four bolts (18) and washers (19).
(2) Slide shaft (13) out of arm (12) and remove
magnetic brake (17).
NOTE
Identify position of shim and spacer rings
for proper placement during installation.
(3) Remove shim (13.1) spacer rings (13.2) and
(13.3) from shaft (13).
11.180.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
11.180.5. Inspection
a. Check removed and attaching parts for dam-
age (para 11.5).
b. Check removed and attaching parts for corro-
sion (para 1.49).
11.180.6. Installation
a. Install -5 rig pin (20) through rig pin hole (21),
bracket (22), and bellcrank (23). Use flight
control rigging kit.
