11.181. LONGITUDINAL MAGNETIC BRAKE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
11.181.6. Installation
a. Establish midpoint (24) of magnetic brake
shaft (16) travel.
(1)
(2) Rotate shaft (16) to full left stop (25) and mark
A.
(3) Rotate shaft (16) to full right stop (26) and
mark B.
(4) Measure and bisect dimension C.
(5) Mark midpoint (24) of shaft (16) travel.
b. Install -5 rig pin (27) through rig pin hole (28),
bracket (29), and bellcrank (30). Use flight
control rigging kit.
c. Install brake (20).
(1) Install spacers (16.3), (16.2), and shim (16.1)
on shaft (16).
(2) Hold shaft (16) at midpoint (24) and position
brake (20).
(3) Carefully insert shaft (16) in serrated bore
(31) of shaft (15).
(4) Install four bolts (21) through washers (22)
brake (20), washers (22), and washers (23).
(5) Install bolt (19) and washer (18).
(6) Install washer (18) and nut (17).
