HELICOPTER WEIGHING (AIRCRAFT ON JACKS) – continued
NOTE
Tail wheel jack point is shielded by a wire
strike protector plate. In order to jack tail
wheel, swivel wheel to allow wire strike
plate to clear jack point.
k. Jack tail wheel (20) to provide clearance for
jack (21).
(1) Position 5-ton jack (22) under tail wheel (20)
jack point. Use jack.
(2) Raise tail wheel (20) just enough to provide
clearance to position 3-ton jack (21) with load
cell (23) under tail boom jack pad (24).
(3) Position wood block (25) under tail wheel (20)
and against jack (22).
NOTE
Ensure that load cell is zeroed before
making contact with jack pad.
l. Install jack (21) with load cell (23) and raise
helicopter tail boom (26).
(1) Position jack (21) with load cell (23) under
jack pad (24). Use jack.
(2) Raise jack (21) until load cell (23) contacts
pad (24).
(3) Continue to raise jack (21) until tail wheel (20)
jack point clears jack (22).
(4) Remove jack (22) and leave wood block (25)
in place.
(5) Position tail wheel (20) to line up with center
line of helicopter.
