FORWARD FUEL CELL INSTALLATION – continued
l. Install plate (33) on pad (34).
(1) Install 24 bolts (35) through washers (36) and
plate (33) into pad (34).
m. Exhaust air from fuel cell (2). Use vacuum
cleaner.
(1) Install vacuum cleaner adapter (37) on quick-
disconnect plug (38).
(2) Install vacuum cleaner hose (39) on adapter
(37).
(3) Turn shutoff valve knob (40) counterclock-
wise to open valve (41).
(4) Start vacuum cleaner (42) to exhaust air from
fuel cell (2).
(5) Continue to collapse fuel cell (2). Bind with
cargo straps (43) from fuel cell kit.
NOTE
After installation of the straps, it may be
possible to collapse the cell by reapplying
vacuum and cinching down the straps at
the same time.
(6) Position straps (43) so that buckles (44) are
accessible when fuel cell (2) is installed.
(7) Turn shutoff valve knob (40) clockwise to
close valve (41).
(8) Shutoff vacuum cleaner (42).
(9) Remove hose (39) from vacuum adapter
(37).
(10) Remove adapter (37) from plug (38).
