AFT FUEL CELL FUEL SHUTOFF VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
10.40.3. Removal
CAUTION
Jet fuel will cause external surface of fuel
cell to swell, delaminate, and leak if al-
lowed to contact the fuel cell more than
72 HOURS. Keep jet fuel away from the
outside of fuel cells.
a. Remove refueling hose (1) from aft fuel cell
fuel shutoff valve (2).
(1) Remove four bolts (3) and washers (4).
(2) Remove and discard gasket (5).
b. Remove pilot valve hose (6) from valve (2).
(1) Hold nipple (7). Remove hose nut (8) from
nipple (7).
c. Identify and detach black lead (9) and green
lead (10) from valve (2).
(1) Remove screw (11), washer (12), and black
lead (9) from valve (2).
(2) Remove nut (13) and green lead (10) from
stud (14).
d. Remove valve (2) from mounting pad.
(1) Remove three bolts (15) and washers (16).
e. Remove nipple (7) from valve (2).
(1) Discard packing (17).
