NITROGEN INERTING UNIT (NIU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION – continued
h. Remove conditioned air outlet hose (30).
(1) Hold NIU fitting (31). Remove hose nut (32).
(2) Remove hose (30) from NIU (3).
i. Remove NIU (3) from ammunition bay.
(1) Remove sealant from two bolts (33).
(2) Remove two bolts (33) and washers (34) from
bracket (35) at left end of NIU (3).
(3) Remove two bolts (36) and washers (37) from
bracket (38) at right end of NIU (3).
(4) Remove NIU (3) from ammunition bay.
10.124.4. Cleaning
a. Wipe removed and attaching parts with a
clean rag.
b. Wipe two vents with a clean rag.
10.124.5. Inspection
a. Check NIU for cracks, nicks, and dents.
b. Check unions and all attaching hardware for
damaged threads (para 10.1).
